Thank you for your interest in DancEd. Dance Centre and our 2017-18 School Year Classes! Classes begin on September 9th, and all enrollment is taken online through the DancEd. website. The DancEd. class curriculum is based on the entire school year, with classes being broken into two semesters for payment purposes only. Once you have registered for a class your dancer’s place is secure in that class for the entire 2017-18 school year (ending in early June, 2018).
Registration is taken by family and based on your level of involvement at DancEd. Families with a dancer enrolled in one of our six week Summer Classes or a Summer Camp are able to register for 2017-18 School Year Classes beginning on Tuesday, May 23rd. Families enrolled in the current 2016-17 school year but NOT enrolled in a 2017 Summer Class or Camp will be able to enroll beginning on Thursday, May 25th. Because it is important for DancEd to control the traffic to the website on each registration day, both May 23rd and May 25th will have specific registration TIMES by which specific classes will come available for online registration. These times are indicated below, and the classes are separated out by DANCER AGE (oldest to youngest) so that most parents will be able to enroll a dancer into all of her/his classes at one time. This helps us manage the traffic to the server and keeps the process flowing smoothly, and it has worked very well for the past several years.
REGISTRATION START TIMES FOR TUESDAY, MAY 23 (Summer Dance Families)
***Registration for all of the above classes will CLOSE Wednesday, May 24th at 6pm so we can prepare for the May 25th registration, and it remain closed for Summer Dance Families until Saturday, May 27th at 9am.***
REGISTRATION START TIMES FOR THURSDAY, MAY 25 (Families Currently Active but NOT Enrolled in Summer)
7:00am: Registration begins for ALL CLASSES WITH A BEGINNING AGE OF 10 YEARS. This includes all classes where the age is listed as being 10-12, 10-13, 4th Grade+, 11-14, 11+, 12+, 7th Grade+, 13+, and 14+.
9:30am: Registration begins for ALL CLASSES WITH A BEGINNING AGE THAT IS BETWEEN 7 AND 9 YEARS. This includes all classes where the age is listed as being 7-9, 8-10, 3rd-5th Grade, 9-10, 9-11, 9-12 and 9-13.
12 noon: Registration begins for ALL CLASSES WITH A BEGINNING AGE THAT IS BETWEEN 1 AND 6 YEARS OLD. This includes all classes where the age is listed as being 18-30mo, 2.5-3, 3-4, 3-5, 4-5, 5-6, 5-7, 6-7, and 6-8.
OPEN REGISTRATION FOR EVERYONE WILL BEGIN WEDNESDAY, MAY 31.
9am: All Classes, All families!
Remember: DancEd. takes registration by FAMILY. This means that every family has one date (above) that is the first day when you can register ALL of your dancers. But within that day, we manage the process by having a specific time by which each class is first available for online registration. Classes are separated out by the AGE of the dancers who will be enrolling into that class, so the effect of having different start times for class enrollment is that a family with more than one dancer may have more than one start time for online enrollment. Classes for older dancers will begin registering earlier in the day, and classes for younger dancers will start later in the day. The rational for oldest to youngest is that older dancers are likely to be enrolled in multiple classes and will therefore take a bit longer to register. If you have multiple dancers and prefer to enroll them at the same time, simply wait until the youngest of them can register and then enroll all of your children.
TIPS FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION
- If you click on a class time for a specific class for which you are interested and you see the word CALL, it is not open for registration. Please be aware that when the time comes for a specific class to open to take online enrollment, the word CALL will not change on your web browser to REGISTER! You will need to REFRESH YOUR WEB BROWSER to see that a class has opened for new enrollment.
- Class times that appear in red indicate that a class is full. September is a long way off (yea Summer!!!) and many classes that are full in May will open within the first few classes of the year. DancEd spends a great deal of time creating and managing wait lists for classes, so we would highly encourage you to add your name to our wait list if a class is full. Simply send us an email with the words WAIT LIST in the subject and tell us your dancer’s name and the name, day/time, and instructor of the class. All wait list requests are taken via email! Also, please understand that a dancer cannot be placed on a wait list until she is actually able to register for classes.
- Keep in mind that, like any online transaction, your place in a class is NOT secure until you have completed the checkout process! It is similar to making a purchase on Amazon – the act of placing an item into your cart does not hold the item for you. It is the act of checking out that finalizes the transaction and holds your spot in your class or classes.
